‘Connect Me’ is a three-year project supporting Coventry’s long term unemployed and economically inactive people, supporting over 900 people over the course of the project. The project aims to make it easier for people who are experiencing barriers into employment, education, or further training.

‘Connect Me’ is part-funded by the European Social Fund.

As a partner on ‘Connect Me’, FabLab Coventry is an informal city-centre creative space where Connect Me participants can learn new skills, complete work experience projects and engage with local employers. Participants can choose from a range of entry level courses that are centred on computer aided design (CAD) and IT.

  • Level 1 Award in Digital Fabrication (Open College Network accredited)
  • Basic IT Skills
  • FabLab Machine Introductions and Inductions
  • Learn to Laser
  • Learn to print 3D

Participants will also receive pre-employment support, including the opportunity to become trainers to deliver FabLab activity, such as hosting a fix-it club / repair café.

  • Personal Development
  • CV Writing Support

Over the duration of the project, a select number of participants will be trained as ‘Connect Me Champions’ who will engage with their peers and neighbours to understand the barriers faced, and contribute to the development of the programme by participating in the ‘experts by experience’ forum.
