“The West Midlands aspires to become the centre for advance manufacturing in Europe. We will nurture the skills to make this happen, and have put together an innovative programme that will benefit all communities.”

We Will:

Identify skills gaps and train refugees and migrants, strengthening the workforce of the entire region

Offer Digital Fabrication accreditation and create two “Mobile FabLabs” to encourage manufacturing pathways for young people

Run home improvement skills workshops and set up a ‘Pop-up Furniture Factory’ for community home make overs

Train refugees and migrants as ‘Community Researchers’ to evaluate and strengthen the MiFriendly Cities project.

Offering:

250 migrants trained in Digital Fabrication

100 migrants mentored in painting, decorating and DIY skills

3 community repair cafés set up in 3 cities

30 accredited community researchers
